Masjid Al Nur

Bringing the light of Islam to all

First Friday Prayer: 12:30 PM

Second Friday Prayer: 1:30 PM

ABOUT

Founded more than forty years ago, the Denver Islamic Society (DIS), also known as Masjid Al Nur, has made tremendous impact thanks to the help of members and volunteers in the Denver community. As an Islamic center serving as a masjid, and a gathering place for the Muslim community in Denver and the larger metropolitan area, DIS has three story-building providing separate prayer halls for men and women, a multipurpose meeting area, nearly 4,000 sq. ft. of classrooms, office space, a library, and a warming kitchen.

Friday (juma) prayers are at 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM local time, with both sermons in Arabic and English. DIS hosts Eid prayers, Taraweeh during Ramadan, and observes Islamic holidays. Several hundred worshippers visit the mosque weekly.

OUR PROGRAMS

Similar to how in the time of the Prophet Muhammad ï·º when the masjid was a central focus of the Muslim community and not just a prayer facility, our programs ensure we serve as a multipurpose family-centered institution.

We serve as a school, a meeting place, and a venue for activities for positive personal growth, contributing to the Colorado society at large, building on a powerful heritage and shaping the identity of generations of proud Muslims.

Taqiyah

LECTURE SERIES

Lectures on various topics, from aqidah (Islamic beliefs), character strength (manners), fiqh (ritual of worship), history (Prophets) and Seerah (Prophet Muhammad ï·º) happening throughout the week.
